Joseph Starr

Founder, Attorney

Attorney Joseph Starr has always had a passion for the law since he was a young child. He has always had a passion and calling to provide a voice that ensures everyone is treated fairly in the eyes of the law.

He was born in the small town of Dallas, NC to a large and close knit immediate family. His hard work ethic was and influenced and molded by his parents and grandparents. These individuals were just everyday people working hard to provide for their families so that they could provide better opportunities to their children then they had. “I recall growing up and getting up early many Saturday mornings to help my grandparents to do things such as plant gardens, chopping wood and feeding hogs.” Being deeply rooted in the church and a son to Baptist ministers, he was instilled with a strong sense of moral character and compassion for his fellow man.

Mr. Starr was the first sibling to graduate from a 4-year institution and proceed on to law school where he received his Juris Doctorate. While attending North Carolina Central University for college and Western Michigan University/Thomas Cooley Law School, Mr. Starr was very heavily involved in the community. Some of the most fondest of memories were made volunteering for organizations such as the Special Olympics, local area food banks and providing tax preparation assistance to low income patrons.

After Law School, Mr. Starr ventured out to the West Coast for several years to work for a legal.com company but those deep rooted values he had continued to pull at his heart strings and he knew that his calling was bigger than a corporate law profession. In 2014, Mr. Starr relocated back to NC and shortly began working with a large independent investment firm within their corporate legal department. Although spending numerous years here, he continued to volunteer and give back to his community until he could no longer fight that tug of a higher calling to use his voice for those that may not be able to fight for themselves and don’t have the voice that can be heard.
